A fire broke out at the campaign office of former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt in Pacific Palisades on Thursday evening.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to the scene on the 1500 block of Palisades Drive, where light smoke was reported in the building. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze within an hour.
The office, located in the Highlands Circle complex, also serves as the headquarters for Pratt’s crystals company. Pratt, known for his reality TV background, has suggested that arsonists may be responsible for the fire, although fire officials have not confirmed this. According to the Los Angeles Times, Pratt described the incident as “very suspicious” and hinted at a possible political motive, citing his recent mayoral campaign against Karen Bass and Nithya Raman.
The LAFD’s Arson Unit has been notified, but the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Eyewitnesses reported seeing two individuals leaving the building shortly before the fire was reported, as noted by KTLA. Pratt’s office is in a building that survived a previous fire earlier this year and was undergoing renovations at the time of the incident.
Pratt has been vocal about his suspicions, telling the California Post that “this was no accident” and expressing concerns over potential reprisals for his political stance. The investigation into the fire continues, with no injuries reported. The LAFD has yet to release any official findings regarding the cause of the blaze.
