Looking for something new to stream or see this weekend? This week’s entertainment lineup has a little bit of everything, from pulse-pounding action to twisted horror and a compelling documentary series.
First up is Motor City, starring Alan Ritchson in a gritty revenge thriller that does something you rarely see in modern action movies: it tells much of its story without dialogue. The stripped-down approach puts the focus on intense action, visual storytelling and Ritchson’s commanding performance. It’s not perfect, but if you’re a fan of old-school action with a fresh twist, it’s an entertaining ride.
Then there’s Pinocchio: Unstrung, the latest entry in the so-called “Poohniverse” of public domain horror films. Believe it or not, this may be the franchise’s best outing yet. The movie leans into over-the-top gore, dark comedy and twisted fairy tale fun, transforming the beloved wooden puppet into a surprisingly effective horror villain. It’s bloody, bizarre and much more entertaining than you might expect.
HBO’s The Man Will Burn is a fascinating docuseries that explores the people, culture and community behind one of the world’s most intriguing events. Thought-provoking and beautifully produced, it’s a reminder that some of the most compelling stories aren’t fiction at all.
Whether you’re in the mood for explosive action, campy horror or a documentary that sparks conversation, this week’s picks offer something for every kind of entertainment fan. Heather has details on these entertainment stories and more in this week’s entertainment report on Gary and Shannon, only on KFI AM 640.
