Andrew Tate’s Home Raided Amid Serious New Allegations

The Romanian home of polarizing internet influencer Andrew Tate, who is currently awaiting trial, was raided by masked police officers amid serious new allegations involving minors, the Associated Press reported Wednesday (August 21).

Tate, 37, who was already facing charges of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women, is now being investigated for human trafficking of minors, sexual intercourse with a minor, influencing statements and money laundering, Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, confirmed, adding that hearings would be held at its headquarters.

Mateea Petrescu, a spokesperson for Tate, addressed the raids and confirmed that “although the charges in the search warrant are not yet fully clarified, they include suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering” and noted that Tate’s legal team was present, but didn’t specifically address the allegations involving minors. Dozens of police officers and forensic personnel were present at the raid of Tate’s property, which is located on the edge of Bucharest, according to DIICOT.

“During the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence,” the anti-organized crime agency said.

Tate and his brother, Tristan, 36, both former kickboxers with dual British and U.S. citizenship, were arrested near Bucharest, along with two Romanian women, in 2022 and all four were indicted last year.
