‘OnlyFans’ Comment About High Schoolers in Speedos Sparks Outrage

A controversy has erupted in Temecula after two school board members were accused of “sexualizing” high school water polo players who wore Speedos at a school baseball game.

The incident began in late April when members of the Temecula Valley High School water polo team attended a baseball game between swim meets. The players, who had painted “B-E-A-R-S” on their chests, revealed their school-colored swimwear to support their classmates.

The photo was shared on the baseball team’s Instagram page, catching the attention of Temecula Valley Unified School District Board President Joseph Komrosky and board member Jennifer Wiersma. Wiersma reposted the image with the caption, “Speaking of dress code…are our teams now an ‘OnlyFans’ crew?” Komrosky expressed similar sentiments, suggesting the students appeared “one step closer to the Chippendales.”

The comments sparked backlash from parents, including Sharon Sardina, whose 17-year-old son was in the photo. Sardina called for the resignation of both board members, accusing them of sexual harassment. “They do not have the best interest of our kids right now,” Sardina told the Los Angeles Times. “They’re putting our minors through a lot by sexualizing them.”

Komrosky and Wiersma, part of a conservative majority elected in 2022, have faced criticism for their comments. Komrosky defended his stance, saying the attire did not align with the district’s dress code. Wiersma later issued an apology on her Instagram story, but Sardina dismissed it as insufficient.

The incident has highlighted ongoing tensions within the district regarding dress codes and student representation. Sardina and her husband, Brian, met with school officials to address their concerns. “It’s flat out sexual harassment no matter how you look at it,” Brian told KTLA.

As the controversy continues, the community remains divided over the appropriateness of the board members’ comments and the broader implications for student expression and safety.
