Trump Predicts Starmer’s Resignation as UK Prime Minister

President Donald Trump has predicted that Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, will resign soon. Trump made this statement on Truth Social on Sunday (June 21), criticizing Starmer for his handling of immigration and energy policies. This comes as the BBC reports growing signs that Starmer may announce his resignation as early as Monday (June 22).

The BBC has cited several government insiders who suggest that Starmer is under increasing pressure to set a timetable for his departure. Cabinet ministers, including Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper and Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, have reportedly urged Starmer to step down following Labour’s poor performance in recent elections.

Trump’s comments come amid speculation about a leadership challenge from Labour Party member Andy Burnham, who recently won a by-election in Makerfield. Burnham is seen as a potential successor to Starmer, who has publicly vowed to fight any leadership contest.

Despite the mounting pressure, Starmer has not spoken publicly about his intentions. He spent the weekend at Chequers, the prime minister’s country residence, reflecting on his political future. According to PBS, Starmer’s relationship with Trump has soured in recent months over various international issues, including the Iran conflict.

If Starmer resigns, he would be the sixth UK prime minister to leave office in the past decade. The Labour Party is facing challenges from both the Green Party and Nigel Farage’s Reform UK, adding to the pressure on Starmer’s leadership.
