HOLLYWOOD (CNS) – Police Saturday are searching for the suspects who robbed and ransacked two 7-Eleven stores about 2 miles apart in Hollywood and fled on bicycles.
The first robbery was reported at approximately 8 p.m Friday at Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue where around 25 suspects, who police said were boys and men in their teens or early 20s, used a stick to break a window and steal merchandise, according to KCAL.
About 20 minutes later, a similar group robbed the store in the 5700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, near Western Avenue, where they also vandalized the store before riding away on their bicycles.
Los Angeles Police Officer Drake Madison told City News Service the thieves stole merchandise and food and it was unclear whether the robberies were connected.
The robberies occurred seven days after around 50 teens vandalized the 7-Eleven store in the 8500 block of Olympic Boulevard, near La Cienega Boulevard, just outside Beverly Hills and stole merchandise, including cigarettes, before riding away on bicycles.
