Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle and Killed in Monterey Park

MONTEREY PARK (CNS) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in Monterey Park, and an investigation was underway Wednesday, police said.

The man was injured about 11 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Atlantic Boulevard, and he died at the scene, according to the Monterey Park Police Department. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.

“The driver of the vehicle, a male adult, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation,” police said in a statement. “Currently, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.”

The driver’s name was not released.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Traffic Investigator Castellano at 626-307-1238, or the Traffic Bureau at 626-307-1240.
