Max Fire Prompts Evacuations in Stevenson Ranch

Crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department are actively battling a two-alarm wildfire, known as the Max Fire, which is dangerously close to homes in Stevenson Ranch.

The fire was first detected by Alert California cameras around 4 p.m. on Monday and was reported near West Magnolia Lane and Autumn Place. Initially estimated at a quarter-acre, the fire rapidly expanded to 45 acres. Fire officials confirmed crews were on the scene, attacking the flames both from the air and the ground. At 6pm incident command said the fire’s forward progress has ‘significantly slowed. Resources are making good progress, structure defense remains in place.’ As of 6:30pm reports are that the fire’s forward progress has been stopped.

An Evacuation Order has been issued near Sagecrest Circle and Chicory Court.  A shelter in place has been issued for Southeast of Pico Canyon Rd and Stevenson Ranch Parkway. .
