Driver Flees on Foot After Fatal Hit-and-Run in Manhattan Beach

MANHATTAN BEACH (CNS) – A hit-and-run collision involving two vehicles in Manhattan Beach left one person dead and another critically injured, authorities said Wednesday.

The crash took place around 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, near the 300 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, between Duncan and Longfellow drives, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

Officers responding to the scene located three victims who were taken to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased victim was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

As of Wednesday morning, a second victim was undergoing surgery, officials said, while the condition of the third victim was unavailable.

Police say the driver of one of the vehicles, identified as Kameron Lee Peterson, fled the scene on foot. Peterson was described as 32 years-old, 6- feet tall and about 175 pounds.
