6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Reported

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake was reported in Costa Rica on Saturday (October 12), according to the United States Geological Survey.

The earthquake was centered in Tamarindo at a depth of 18.6 kilometers (about 11.5 miles). The USGS said it received 53 reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.

The Costa Rica earthquake was reported one day after a 3.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Friday (October 11), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered in Stovepipe Wells at a depth of 1.4 kilometers (about one mile).

The Stovepipe Wells earthquake struck three days after a 4.3-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Tuesday (October 8), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered in Dillon at a depth of 11.2 kilometers (about seven miles).
