Justice Department Un-Redacts More Names In The Epstein Files

The Justice Department has unredacted additional names in the Jeffrey Epstein files following pressure from lawmakers who reviewed complete versions of the documents. The move comes after Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna examined the unredacted files and claimed that powerful men were being protected by the redactions.

“There are six men, some of them with their photographs, that have been redacted, and there’s no explanation why those people were redacted,” said Rep. Khanna.

Rep. Massie, a Kentucky Republican, indicated he would give the DOJ an opportunity to “correct their mistakes” before potentially reading the names on the House floor or in a committee hearing, where his remarks would be protected under the Speech and Debate Clause. He noted that at least one of the men was a U.S. citizen, another was a foreigner, and the nationalities of others remained unclear.

House Judiciary ranking member Jamie Raskin, who also viewed the unredacted materials, criticized what he called “mysterious redactions” that obscured names while failing to protect victims’ identities.

“I saw the names of lots of people, who were redacted for mysterious or baffling or inscrutable reasons,” Raskin told reporters after reviewing the files at a government facility in Washington D.C. on Monday.

The Justice Department has not provided a clear explanation for the inconsistent redactions, nor addressed why individuals beyond Epstein were never charged. FBI Director Kash Patel previously stated there was no credible information showing Epstein trafficked girls to others.

The latest release of Epstein-related files has caused significant political fallout both in the United States and internationally. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick faces bipartisan calls to resign after documents suggested he maintained a relationship with Epstein despite previously downplaying their connection.

The ongoing investigation continues to reveal connections between Epstein and powerful figures across politics, business, and royalty, with implications reaching from Washington to London and beyond.
