Prince William reportedly doesn’t want his brother, Prince Harry, at his eventual coronation as king, according to an article published in the Sunday Times for Prince Harry’s birthday.
Prince William, 42, reportedly prefers that his crowning, which will tale place after the eventual death of his father, King Charles III, 75, to “look and feel different,” which will include Prince Harry, 40, not attending the ceremony, according to friends with knowledge of the situation.
“They are estranged, which is dreadfully sad,” one of the brothers’ closest friends told the newspaper.
The sources confirmed that the brothers haven’t spoken in nearly two years, which followed Prince Harry’s quitting of his royal duties and moving to California with his wife, actress Meghan Markle, as well as the couple notoriously airing the royal family’s dirty laundry in their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry’s revealing memoir Spare.
“The problem for the King and other members of the family is the worry that if they have a chat with Harry, it will appear in ‘Spare’ volume two,” said one of King Charles’ friends. via the Sunday Times “How do you regain the trust? I don’t think Harry ever can.”
“But from the conversations I’ve had with the King, I would never say their relationship is irreparable,” the source added. “The King’s capacity to forgive his son is undimmed. There are other members of the royal family who are much more weighted against Harry, that’s the problem.”
