IRVINE (CNS) – Two people were found dead Thursday at a hotel in Irvine, and police were investigating the deaths as a possible murder-suicide.
According to Irvine police, officers responded about 2:30 p.m. Thursday to a medical-aid call at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, 7905 Irvine Center Drive.
“Officers discovered two elderly people deceased in the room,” according to police.
Kyle Oldoerp of the Irvine Police Department told City News Service the deaths are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide. He said the deceased were a man believed to be 86 and a woman possibly 70. The pair had been expected to check out of the Marriott hotel Thursday morning.
The cause of death is unknown, he said.
