LOS ANGELES (CNS)- The weather is warming in the Los Angeles area, but much of the rest of the U.S. is in Jack Frost’s frigid grip with snowy weather causing flight delays and cancellations with ripple effects reaching LAX.
As of about 7:30 a.m. Friday, 59 inbound and outbound domestic and international flights at Los Angeles International Airport were delayed, according to FlightAware, which reports that another 13 were cancelled.
Worsening weather was expected to cause delays into the weekend, especially at airports in Minneapolis-St. Paul and Detroit, but also in Dallas- Ft. Worth and elsewhere.
Travelers were being advised to check with airlines before heading to the airport for an outbound flight or when expecting an arrival.
