The Pasadena Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for pets aged five and older throughout November to celebrate National Adopt a Senior Pet Month. This initiative, supported by the Mericos Foundation, aims to promote the benefits of adopting older pets. Pasadena Humane President and CEO Chris Ramon emphasized that senior pets are often calmer, house-trained, and ready to settle in quickly. “They may be older, but they have just as much love to give,” Ramon said. “In return, you’ll gain an affectionate, devoted companion.”
All pets available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have received age-appropriate vaccinations. New adopters will also receive a complimentary wellness exam with a partner veterinarian and a packet of information on pet care. Throughout November, those interested in adopting a senior pet are encouraged to visit Pasadena Humane’s website or stop by the shelter during adoption hours, which run daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
