LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Police Thursday are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and woman in the Windsor Square neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Area were called to the 200 block of North Ridgewood Place between Beverly Boulevard and First Street at approximately 11:45 p.m. Wednesday regarding a shooting, where they found the victims suffering from gunshot wounds, LAPD Lt. Sean Kinchla of the department’s Robbery Homicide Division told reporters.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
Kinchla said a second woman was also wounded in the shooting and was taken to a hospital, where she is expected to survive.
“We’re still in the early stages of the investigation,” Kinchla said. “It appears to be an isolated incident.”
Reports circulated that the shooting was a murder-suicide, but police did not confirm that.
Fox 11 reported a handgun police believe was used in the shooting was recovered at the scene.
The dead man was 39-years-old and is believed to have been the shooter, while the woman who survived is 70, according to ABC7.
The LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide will be in charge of the investigation of the shooting, Kinchla said.
