Stolen Hawk Reunited with Owner in Inglewood, Second Still Missing

One of the two hawks stolen from SoFi Stadium has been found and reunited with its owner, Charlie Cogger. The hawk, named Bubba, was discovered in a backyard in Inglewood on Sunday. The theft occurred during a Los Angeles Rams game when a utility vehicle containing the hawks was stolen. The vehicle was later found abandoned, but Bubba was missing until a resident in Hacienda Heights spotted him and contacted the police. The Inglewood Police Department then alerted Cogger, who retrieved Bubba.

Bubba and another hawk, Alice, are used by Cogger, a professional falconer, to deter other birds at SoFi Stadium. While Bubba has been found, Alice remains missing, and Cogger hopes for her safe return. The theft has drawn attention due to the rarity and specialized care required for trained raptors like Harris’s hawks. These birds are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which prohibits their harassment or hunting.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Alice’s whereabouts to contact the Inglewood Police Department. The community remains hopeful for her safe recovery.
