LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter was injured fighting a raging fire that began at 683 S. Kohler St. and has burned for over three hours and has spread over a block to several commercial buildings in downtown Los Angeles Friday.
Fire crews responded at 2:07 a.m. to 683 S. Kohler St. near Seventh Street to an outside fire and began battling the flames with both defensive and offensive tactics, said LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange.
The fire spread to a group of buildings at 747 S. Kohler St., Prange said.
Fox 11 reported a firefighter had been injured in the fire fight and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
So far, 170 firefighters have been assigned to the blaze.
