Cause Of Death Revealed For American Found Dead On The Beach In The Bahamas

Officials in the Bahamas have confirmed that Dinari McAlmont, a 23-year-old American from Bowie, Maryland, died from drowning. McAlmont’s body was found on a beach at the Atlantis Paradise Bahamas resort on Paradise Island, where he was vacationing with his family. The Royal Bahamas Police Force stated that a post-mortem examination revealed drowning as the cause of death, and they do not suspect foul play at this time. However, the police are still awaiting results from a forensic toxicology test.

Despite the official findings, McAlmont’s family is skeptical. His mother, Michelle McAlmont, expressed her belief that her son was beaten, citing visible bruises on his body. “There is foul play,” she told WTTG. The family had arrived at the resort on Friday (April 4), and McAlmont disappeared after dinner that evening. His body was discovered the following morning.

The incident has raised questions, particularly after reports that McAlmont was sought by police for allegedly spitting on a restaurant staff member at the resort. His parents are demanding a full investigation and have hired a lawyer specializing in international relations. They are also requesting the release of all surveillance footage from the resort to understand the events leading to their son’s death.

The Atlantis Paradise Resort expressed condolences and stated its cooperation with the ongoing investigation. The U.S. State Department maintains a Level 2 travel warning for the Bahamas, advising increased caution due to violent crime, especially around Nassau.
