Police Search for Two Kids Allegedly Abducted by Father in Sylmar

Police are actively searching for two children from Southern California, Hrant Kolomoeits, 7, and Avaora Kolomoeits, 9, who were allegedly abducted by their father, Rodion Kolomoeits, in Sylmar. The children were last seen on Tuesday at their elementary school on the 13000 block of Hubbard Street.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Rodion Kolomoeits, 39, picked up the siblings from school despite having recently lost custody of them. He is believed to be driving a 2016 gray Toyota Prius with the California license plate 9PKY966. The vehicle was last seen crossing the border at San Ysidro into Mexico on the same day around 2 p.m.

Rodion Kolomoeits is described as a white male with brown hair and light-colored eyes, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall. He is a Ukrainian national and is suspected of attempting to return to Ukraine with the children, police reported.

Avaora is described as a white female with brown hair and blue eyes, standing 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 75 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt and black pants. Hrant is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing 4 feet tall and weighing around 50 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green and blue sweater and black pants. Both children primarily speak Russian.
