LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The 126th annual Golden Dragon Parade will be held in Chinatown Saturday, marking Lunar New Year.
The three-hour parade is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Ord and Hill streets, head north on Hill Street to Bernard Street, east one block to Broadway, then south on Broadway to Temple Street, where it concludes.
The parade includes a Lion dance, in which performers mimic a lion’s movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune, dance troupes and music groups.
Organizers encourage spectators to take public transportation or a ride-hailing service because of street closures beginning at 10 a.m. and an expected lack of parking.
