Trump Gives Outlook On Access To Abortion Pills During Administration

President-elect Donald Trump said he doesn’t plan to restrict access to abortion pills once he’s sworn into office, but acknowledged that “things change,” during an interview with Kristen Welker on Meet the Press Sunday (December 8) morning.

“I’ll probably stay with exactly what I’ve been saying for the last two years. And the answer is no,” Trump said.

“I mean, are — things do — things change. I think they change. I hate to go on shows like [President] Joe Biden, ‘I’m not going to give my son a pardon. I will not under any circumstances give him a pardon.’ I watched this and I always knew he was going to give him a pardon,” he added, referencing the president’s reversal in giving his son, Hunter, a full pardon last week after publicly claiming he wouldn’t.

“And so, I don’t like putting myself in a position like that,” Trump added. “So things do change. But I don’t think it’s going to change at all.”

Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices — Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett — all of whom voted in favor of overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022, and has publicly claimed that abortion access should be determined by individual states.
