Ted Lasso is back after more than three years, and this time Ted is coaching a whole new team.
Jason Sudeikis returns for Season 4 of the Apple TV comedy, which shifts the action to AFC Richmond’s women’s team while bringing back fan favorites including Rebecca, Keeley and Roy Kent. Sudeikis had long maintained that Ted Lasso was conceived as a three-season story, but a trip to Ojai with the writers helped change his mind.
Also getting a major makeover is the Big Bang Theory universe. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe takes comic-book store owner Stuart and several familiar supporting characters and drops them into a full-blown multiverse adventure. There’s no laugh track, plenty of sci-fi chaos and some surprise appearances that longtime Big Bang fans should appreciate.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man apparently remains immune to superhero fatigue. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day became the fastest movie ever to cross $500 million at the domestic box office, reaching the milestone in just seven days and beating the record previously held by Avengers: Endgame.
And then there are the Girl Scouts who make selling a few boxes of Thin Mints look like amateur hour.
The documentary Cookie Queens follows four girls through the surprisingly competitive world of Girl Scout Cookie season, including one young seller determined to beat her previous record of 8,000 boxes. The film is sweet and funny, but it also raises some fascinating questions about competition, parental pressure and teaching kids to become entrepreneurs before they’re even old enough to drive.
