POMONA (CNS) – Two people were arrested for driving under the influence and four drivers had their vehicles towed at a DUI/driver’s license operation Saturday in Pomona.
In addition to the arrests, 28 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license or with a suspended/revoked license and 1,015 vehicles were screened during the checkpoint, according to the Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau.
The checkpoint took place between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday at Holt and Union avenues.
DUI checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and the frequency of DUI arrests, police said. In 2023, the Pomona Police Department investigated 100 DUI collisions that resulted in four deaths and 60 injured people.
