Attorney General Pam Bondi gave a surprising reaction to Amy Poehler‘s parody of her during the cold opening of Saturday Night Live this past weekend.
Bondi said she was “loving Amy Poehler” when she shared a screenshot of Poehler and Tina Fey, who was parodying Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.
“@Sec_Noem, should we recreate this picture in Chicago?” Bondi wrote on her X account. “Loving Amy Poehler!”
The SNL cold opening featured a parody of Bondi appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, with Poehler portraying her as combative and insulting lawmakers, while deflecting questions and reading a prepared list of “roast-style burns.”
Fey entered the sketch toward the end, which included breaking into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement recruitment in which claimed the agency was recruiting “big,” “tough” men who weren’t “tough enough for the army or police.” The Department of Homeland Security used a clip from Fey’s impression on its X account spliced with a recruiting video, along with the caption, “Thanks for the free advertisement.”
Noem had previously been brutally spoofed on an episode of South Park in August, acknowledging that the show made jokes about her looks but admitted that she didn’t actually watch the episode during an appearance on the Glenn Beck Program.
