National Restaurant Chain Returns Popular Promotion With A Twist

Red Lobster announced the limited-time return of its popular Endless Shrimp promotion at a higher price than its departure in a press release shared on Monday (April 20).

The all-you-can-eat shrimp special was removed from Red Lobster’s menu in 2024 after the popular restaurant chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which resulted in 130 restaurant closures. Former interim CEO Jonathan Tibus criticized the $20 menu item for “burdensome supply obligations” and it was investigated as part of potential mismanagement, which Reuters reported resulted in $11 million of the company’s $76 million net losses in 2023.

Current Red Lobster CEO Damola Adamolekun previously decided against the return of the Endless Shrimp offering, “because I know how to do math,” at the time of his takeover, but appears to have changed his stance for the limited time offering, which will now be sold at an average price of $24.99 per person.

“This is about putting our guests first and bringing back something they truly love,” Adamolekun said in the press release. “Endless Shrimp has been a part of Red Lobster’s legacy for 20 years and our guests have never stopped asking for it. We’re excited to bring it back, for a limited time, in a way that works for our business today and honors what made it special from the beginning. Because when our fans talk, we listen.”

The Endless Shrimp promotion will include the new Marry Me Shrimp, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp Scampi and Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp.
