LA County Unveils 23 Billboards for Fire Recovery Support

Los Angeles County has launched a campaign to support small and micro businesses affected by January’s wildfires, unveiling 23 new billboards on Wednesday. The billboards, which include digital panels, transit shelters, and printed posters, aim to encourage residents to shop and dine locally, aiding businesses hit hardest by the Eaton and Palisades fires.

Clear Channel Outdoor sponsored the billboards, expanding the reach of the “Shop Local. Dine Local. Recover Local.” campaign. This initiative, introduced by County Board of Supervisors Chair Kathryn Barger in April, seeks to remind residents that local purchases directly help businesses recover from property, revenue, and customer losses.

The campaign partners with cities like Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Malibu, and Pasadena, as well as organizations such as the California Restaurant Association and the Economic Development Corporation. Residents are encouraged to take the “Shop Local Pledge” and explore participating businesses at ShopLocal.LA.

Kelly LoBianco, Director of the Department of Economic Opportunity, emphasized the importance of community involvement in recovery efforts, stating, “These billboards are a powerful reminder that everyday choices, where we shop and where we eat, have a direct impact on helping our neighbors rebuild and thrive.” The billboards will remain up through November, serving as a visual reminder of the ongoing need for community support in the recovery process.
