‘Intentional’ Explosion Reported At Harvard University Medical Building

An explosion deemed “intentional” by investigators occurred early Saturday (November 1) at a Harvard University medical building. The incident took place around 2:48 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building, located at 220 Longwood Avenue. According to the Harvard University Police Department, a responding officer witnessed two individuals fleeing the scene after a fire alarm was triggered.

The Boston Fire Department’s Arson Unit conducted an initial assessment, determining that the explosion appeared to be deliberate. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries. Following the explosion, Boston police officers conducted a thorough sweep of the building to ensure there were no additional devices present.

The Harvard University Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Harvard detective bureau at 617-495-1796.
