Girl, 6, Killed and Five Injured At Two-Vehicle Crash in Palmdale

PALMDALE (CNS) – A 6-year-old girl was killed and five other people suffered minor-to-serious injuries at a two-vehicle crash in Palmdale, authorities said Sunday.

The crash occurred about 11 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Pearblossom Highway and 25th Street East, according to the sheriff’s Palmdale station.

A 55-year-old woman driving a northbound 2022 gray Subaru Outback allegedly ran a red light and struck an eastbound 2014 Toyota Camry, which entered the intersection on a green traffic light.

The Toyota Camry broadsided the Subaru Outback in the intersection.

Paramedics dispatched to the scene at 11:07 a.m. rushed six people to two hospitals, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

The 6-year-old girl died from her injuries at one of the two hospitals, and five others suffered minor-to-serious injuries, the sheriff’s Palmdale station reported.

“The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information at this time,” according to a news statement.

Anyone with any information regarding the crash was urged to call the sheriff’s Palmdale station at 661-272-2400. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
