A former student attacked two staff members with a knife at the Switzer Learning Center in Torrance, on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. at the school located at 2201 Amapola Court, according to Lieutenant Ahmad of the Torrance Police Department.
The two staff members were immediately transported to a nearby hospital, though their current conditions remain undisclosed. The suspect, who has not been named, also reportedly made threats involving pipe bombs at the learning center. Law enforcement responded swiftly to secure the area and ensure the safety of students and staff.
The Switzer Learning Center, known for providing specialized education and therapeutic services, was placed on lockdown as police conducted a thorough search for any explosive devices. No bombs were found, and the lockdown was lifted after authorities deemed the area safe.
