A shocking and violent attack occurred in downtown Los Angeles early Wednesday, where a man in his 70s was robbed, beaten, and set on fire.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident took place shortly after midnight. The victim, a local resident, was discovered by a passerby who stopped to help him. He was immediately rushed to a hospital and is currently in critical condition.
The suspect, believed to be homeless, is now facing attempted murder charges. LAPD Sgt. Robert Incontro described the incident as “very severe” and confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. “We’ve processed the scene and we’re going to continue with the investigation,” he said.
