Conor McGregor, NBA Team Sued For Alleged Sexual Assault

A woman who accused former UFC Champion Conor McGregor of sexual assault has filed a lawsuit against him and the Miami Heat, ESPN reported on Wednesday (January 15).

The lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, identifies the woman as a 49-year-old Miami-Dade County resident who alleged that McGregor, 34, sexually assaulted her in the bathroom after Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the the Denver Nuggets and the Heat at Kaseya Center on June 9, 2023. The plaintiff, who was identified as a vice president on Wall Street at a “high profile financial institution” initially came forward with allegations against McGregor shortly after the incident took place in June 2023.

Multiple videos obtained and shared by TMZ Sports showed McGregor interacting with and leading the woman into a bathroom at Kaseya Center, the same night in which McGregor participated in a skit in which he participated in an on-court skit with Miami Heat mascot, Burnie, which included throwing punches that apparently resulted in the person playing the character being hospitalized.

McGregor is seen leaving a men’s bathroom before speaking with a woman, grabbing her by the hand and walking her inside the bathroom. A demand letter obtained by TMZ Sports on June 15 accused McGregor of “violently” sexually assaulting a woman inside the men’s bathroom at Kaseya Center.

In November, another woman who claimed McGregor “brutally raped and battered” her was awarded nearly $257,000 by the High Court in Dublin, the Associated Press reports. The jury found McGregor liable for sexual assault, but not rape, in relation to the incident that took place in the penthouse of a Dublin hotel on December 9, 2018, which Nikita Hand claimed left her heavily bruised and suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
