Canyon Crest Fire Prompts Evacuation Warning In Riverside County

A fire that started on Thanksgiving has prompted some evacuation warnings in Fontana.

According to CalFire, The Canyon Crest fire started around 5:31pm in he area of Canyon Crest Drive and Weeping Willow Lane and burned uphill. The fire is currently at about 85 acres and burning at a ‘moderate rate’ of speed. It is 0% contained.

Fire officials will be issuing an update on the fire this morning.

Current areas under evacuation warning include:

  • North of the 60 Freeway
  • East of County Village Road
  • South of Riverside/San Bernardino County Line
  • West of Sierra Ave

A care and receiption center has been set up at Jurupa Valley High School located at 10551 Bellegrave Ave in Jurupa Valley.
