Florida Student, 11, Arrested For Threatening To Commit A Mass Shooting

An 11-year-old boy from Volusia County, Florida, was arrested on Monday (September 16) for threatening to conduct a mass shooting at Creekside Middle School. The boy, identified as Carlo “Kingston” Dorelli, was charged with a felony count of making a written threat of a mass shooting after he showed his classmates a video of his collection of weapons and made violent threats during a Facetime call.

According to an arrest affidavit, Dorelli showed his classmates a collection of airsoft rifles, pistols, and knives and mentioned a “hit list” of people he wanted to kill. Investigators found what appeared to be the list, along with various airsoft-style rifles and pistols, and several knives and swords at the boy’s home.

Dorelli initially denied creating a list with other students’ names on it but later admitted to it, claiming it was a joke and that he had no intention of causing any harm. Despite his claims, Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood announced Dorelli’s arrest on Twitter, stating that the boy had been charged with writing a threat of a mass shooting targeting Creekside Middle School or Silver Sands Middle School.
