Authorities have issued a missing persons alert for Parys Jones, a 13-year-old girl who disappeared two days ago in Los Angeles County’s South Bay region.
She was last seen around 3 p.m. on Wednesday near Hargrave Street and Welton Way in Inglewood, close to North Park and Centinela Elementary School. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) released an Ebony Alert on Thursday night to help locate her.
The Ebony Alert is part of California’s unique alert system aimed at helping find missing Black girls and young women. According to KCRA, the system was implemented to address the disproportionate number of Black youth who go missing without receiving timely alerts.
Few details about Parys’s disappearance have been released. Authorities urge anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
