Viewing Parties Set For Mexico-South Korea World Cup Match

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Free viewing parties for Thursday’s 6 p.m. Mexico- South Korea World Cup match will be held throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.

The parties will include one on the First Street Corridor at Vicente Fernandez Street in Boyle Heights at 4 p.m. and at the Walnut Nature Park in the unincorporated community of Walnut Park bordering South Gate at 5 p.m.

The Mexico-South Korea match and the day’s other three matches will be shown as part of the “Kick It In the Park” parties organized by various city of Los Angeles departments that also include youth soccer clinics, neighborhood programming and community resources.

The parties at Seoul International Park in Koreatown, Whitsett Fields in North Hollywood and the Sylmar and Northridge recreation centers will begin with the 9 a.m. match between Group A’s other two teams, South Africa and Czechia, more widely known in English as the Czech Republic.

The Group B match between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Switzerland from SoFi Stadium will follow at noon, followed by the 3 p.m. Group B match between Canada and Qatar.

Attendance is limited to 1,000 people at a time. Alcohol sale, possession and consumption is not permitted. Attendees are advised by organizers to bring blankets, chairs, snacks and reusable water bottles.

The Mexico-South Korea and Canada-Qatar matches will be shown at the Soccer Celebration at Pine Avenue and Broadway in Long Beach organized by the Galaxy.

A watch party organized by Radio Korea will begin at 3 p.m. at The Source OC in Buena Park. Other free watch parties in Orange County will be at The Grand Theater in Anaheim and Packard Building in Anaheim’s Packing District.

The Mexico-South Korea, Czechia-South Africa and Bosnia-Herzegovina- Switzerland matches be televised in English by Fox while the Canada-Qatar match will be televised in English by FS1. All four matches will be televised in Spanish by Telemundo.
