Man Shot At Drive-Thru Drives Family To Safety With Bullet In His Head

In a harrowing incident in Keizer, Oregon, a father was shot in the head while leaving an In-N-Out drive-thru with his family. Despite his injury, Marcio Garcia, 28, managed to drive his wife and two young sons, ages 2 and 7, to safety. The Keizer Police Department has arrested two suspects, Ethan Adrian Armenta-Lagunas, 20, and Gabriel “Alex” Javier, 18, both from Salem, in connection with the shooting. They face charges including first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, criminal mischief, and recklessly endangering another person.

Authorities are still searching for a third suspect, 22-year-old Anthony Taylor-Manriquez, who is considered armed and dangerous. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Keizer Station Blvd and Ulali Dr NE, where the family’s car windows were shattered by gunfire. Fortunately, Garcia’s wife and children were unharmed.

Garcia’s wife described him as a hero who prioritized his family’s safety over his own. “In the middle of chaos and fear, while he was injured and in pain, he somehow found the strength to drive us out of the scene to safety,” she wrote in an online fundraiser.

The bullet was removed from Garcia’s head during surgery, and he did not suffer major brain damage. He is currently recovering at home. The police recovered multiple firearms from Armenta-Lagunas’ apartment, including one believed to have been used in the shooting.

Another person in the area was also struck by gunfire in the leg but survived. The Keizer Police Department continues to seek public assistance in locating Taylor-Manriquez.
