President Trump’s Trip to China Ends

President Donald Trump concluded his visit to China, and is heading back to the United States after a high-stakes summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The two leaders discussed several critical issues, including the ongoing war in Iran, with China being Iran’s largest trading partner. President Trump emphasized that both he and Xi want the Strait of Hormuz to reopen as soon as possible.

The leaders also agreed that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to ensure the free flow of energy, as reported by the New York Post. Furthermore, they discussed economic cooperation and the reduction of fentanyl exports to North America.

While in Beijing, President Trump praised Xi Jinping, calling him a “great leader” and highlighting their long-standing relationship. Trump also extended an invitation to President Xi to visit the White House in September, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties further.

The summit comes amid rising tensions between the U.S. and China, but both leaders expressed a desire to stabilize relations. According to Democracy Now!, the meeting marked the first U.S. state visit to China since 2017, underscoring its significance in international diplomacy.
