HOLLYWOOD HILLS (CNS) – Police Friday were searching for two suspects who robbed and choked a woman in her 70s in her Hollywood Hills home.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called just after 8 p.m. Thursday to the 8500 block of Lookout Mountain Avenue, just west of Wonderland Avenue Elementary School, where they learned the masked suspects broke into the residence and were confronted by the victim, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The suspects demanded property, including money and jewelry, then attacked and choked the woman, police said.
The suspects, who were wearing dark-colored hoodies, ran from the scene and drove away in a white Honda Accord, according to police.
The victim was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition. Her name was not released, but neighbors identified her to ABC7 as Margaux Mirkin, whose late father founded Budget Rent a Car. She is also the widow of a man who identified himself as William de Rothschild and died in a Hollywood Hills house fire in 2024.
The LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division was leading the investigation.
