Four Detained After Brawl At Disney Hall Graduation Ceremony

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Four people were detained after a brawl at a graduation ceremony for detained youth on probation at Walt Disney Concert Hall that was followed by a possible shooting at a nearby parking structure.

After the graduation ceremony concluded Thursday, a suspect leaped over a second-story balcony and assaulted a graduate, triggering a violent brawl involving a large group of people, according to the Los Angeles County Probation Department.

“The Probation Special Enforcement Operations Unit quickly responded, containing the incident and restoring order inside the auditorium,” according to a statement from the department. ” We are pleased to report that all detained probation graduates and Los Angeles County Office of Education graduates are uninjured, safe, and secure.”

According to NBC4, four people were detained by police during the brawl.

The probation department said the ceremony was a celebration of the “educational milestone of more than 100 Los Angeles County high school graduates, including (29) detained youth on probation.”

Reports of shots fired inside a nearby parking structure was reported around 5 p.m., prompting Los Angeles Police Department officers to respond to the area of Grand Avenue and Second Street.

No injuries were reported.
