LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Law-enforcement agencies across Southern California are reminding drivers to celebrate Super Bowl Sunday without getting behind the wheel drunk or high — and that police will have extra eyes out there patrolling the roads, looking for DUI motorists.
Personnel with the California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles Police Department will all step up their presence as the Seattle Seahawks face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara.
“Super Bowl Sunday brings excitement, energy, and visitors from across the country,” said CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee.
“Our goal is to keep California’s roads safe, and we will actively enforce laws against unsafe and reckless driving. At the end of the day, the real winner is the one who makes it home safely.”
Options abound for getting around without driving drunk, but law-enforcement officials advise making a plan for safe transportation before the partying starts.
