A “Dorito-shaped” unidentified object was seen flying over the highly classified Area 51 military base in Nevada last week, the New York Post reports.
Anders Otteson, a well-known off-grid videographer who has documented mysterious landscapes around Area 51 for his Uncanny Expeditions YouTube Channel, recorded a strange, unidentified aircraft while at the military base at around 3:00 a.m. local time on January 14. The object, which is suspected to be an unidentified aerial phenomenon, appeared to have an “equilateral triangle” shape, varying from the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber filmed by Otteson earlier that same night.
Otteson said the mystery craft appeared to have a similar V-wing profile, but flatter trailing edge, no visible wings and a jagged rear section compared to the B-2, but acknowledged that he wouldn’t rule out that it was actually a B-2 or another military aircraft given that there was limited resolution.
“Are we looking at a classified test flight or run-of-the-mill training sortie?” he asked. “I certainly think we have something interesting here.”
Otteson said the aircraft had a similar shape and flight trail to photos showing what appeared to be “an as yet unacknowledged triangle-shaped aircraft” spotted over Wichita, Kansas, and Amarillo, Texas, in 2014. The two photos showed unidentified triangle-shaped aircrafts that differed from common Air Force planes and drones.
Otteson acknowledged that the latest sighting fell in line with recent reports of a similar “Dorito-shaped” aircraft seen flying over remote desert regions in Southern California.
