Substitute Teacher, Boyfriend Charged In Child Sexual Assault Probe

A former Texas substitute teacher and her boyfriend are accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a child and possessing child pornography.

Madison Paige Jones, 30, was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact and one count of possession of child pornography, resulting in her arrest on December 17, the Midlothian Police Department announced in a post shared on its Facebook account last week. Jones’ boyfriend, Zackery Dondlinger, 37, was arrested six days later in connection with the case and charged with sexual performance by a child.

Jones, who was booked into the Ellis County Jail on a $90,000 bond, substituted for the Midlothian Independent School District four times during the past year, which included one day at Heritage High School on November 19 and three days at Baxter Elementary on October 28, October 29 and November 3, according to the district.

Police confirmed that the alleged crimes were not committed at district schools and didn’t involve any district students, while the district itself assured that Jones was no longer employed after learning of her alleged crimes in a letter sent to families after her arrest.

“Our district process for monitoring employee criminal history functioned as intended, and we were notified quickly by the DPS,” Midlothian Independent School District said in a statement to CBS News. “The substitute teacher is no longer employed by MISD, and the district followed its required reporting procedures with the Texas Education Agency.”
