A pair of camels escaped from their enclosure and started roaming through Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, on Tuesday (June 11) afternoon.
The camels ran through the park, leaving guests stunned and amused. Justin Garcia, who was visiting Cedar Point with his family, captured videos showing one of the camels jumping near a man in a mobility scooter.
Another video showed guests running for cover as the two camels ran toward them.
“We were almost trampled by two massive mammals,” Garcia told WJW. “We put some space in between us and watched the aftermath of what could have been a very dangerous situation.”
Park workers eventually corralled the two camels and returned them to the petting zoo from which they had escaped. Officials said nobody was injured during their escape.
“Last night, the camels decided to take an unplanned stroll just outside their home at The Barnyard,” Cedar Point’s Tony Clark told the news station. “We’re looking into how they made it to the midway.”
