A Powerball ticket sold in Oxnard matched five numbers in Saturday’s drawing, earning the lucky winner over $2.3 million.
Although no one claimed the $1.5 billion jackpot, the ticket purchased at Wright’s Market on Ventura Boulevard hit five of the six winning numbers: 4, 5, 28, 52, and 69, with a Powerball of 20. The Power Play multiplier was 3x.
The jackpot has now increased to an estimated $1.6 billion, making it the fourth-largest in Powerball history. The next drawing is scheduled for Monday night. According to ABC7, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
While the jackpot remains elusive, the ticket sold at Wright’s Market has brought a significant prize to its owner and a $11,500 bonus to the store for selling the winning ticket. The Los Angeles Times reports that this marks the second consecutive time Powerball jackpots have exceeded $1 billion.
The winner has the option of receiving their prize as a lump sum or through annual payments. The next drawing will determine if the jackpot will finally find a winner or continue to grow. KCRA highlights that Powerball tickets are $2 each, with drawings held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
