Number Of Websites That Use Cloudflare Revealed Amid Global Outages

More than 7.5 million websites are reported to use Cloudflare services amid global outages on Tuesday (November 18), according to Increv.

Cloudflare is reported to have 7,591,745 active websites and accounts for 32.8% of the top 10,000 most popular global websites with 4.1 million customers, including 119,206 paying customers. Downdetector.com, a website that tracks widespread internet outages, reported a spike of more than 10,000 reported outages at 9:30 a.m.

A reported 62% of Cloudflare problems dealt with server connection; 27% dealt with the website; and 11% dealt with hosting, according to Downdetector. Cloudfare claimed that “a fix has been implemented and we believe the incident is now resolved” but was “continuing to monitor for errors to ensure all services are back to normal” in an update on its system status page.

“Cloudflare is experiencing an internal service degradation. Some services may be intermittently impacted. We are focused on restoring service. We will update as we are able to remediate. More updates to follow shortly,” the company said in its initial message confirming the outages.

X, formerly known as Twitter, was among the notable websites affected by the Cloudflare issue Tuesday. The social media website spiked at more than 13,500 reported outages at around 8:30 a.m. ET, according to Downdetector.com.

X had previously dealt with massive outages in July and March 2025, with thousands reporting issues.
