Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown apologized if he “offended anyone” by doing a “Trump dance” during his touchdown celebration in his team’s Week 10 win against the Washington Commanders, which Trump attended at Northwest Stadium in Washington, D.C.
“First of all, if I offended anyone, I do apologize. I did not mean to offend anyone. It was just, we’re having fun,” St. Brown said on the latest episode of his St. Brown Podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, free agent wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, released on Wednesday (November 12). “If any president was at that game and had a dance I would have done it. It had nothing to do with who the president was.”
St. Brown went viral after he caught a 9-yard touchdown pass, pointed to the luxury suite where Trump hadn’t yet arrived and danced in a way similar to the president. Trump, who flew over the stadium on Air Force One prior to arriving, became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl in February, became the first since late former President Jimmy Carter to attend a regular season game since 1978 on Sunday (November 9).
Trump’s Truth Social account re-shared a video of St. Brown’s celebration with the caption “Amon-Ra St. Trump.”
