Butler Farm Show Marks First Event At Site Of Trump Assassination Attempt

The Butler Farm Show, a beloved community tradition since 1948, is set to proceed as planned, marking the first major event on the grounds since the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally on July 13. The event, which celebrates agriculture and community, is seen as a step towards healing and returning to normal life for the Butler community.

The Butler Farm Show’s official website expressed grief over the tragic incident and extended condolences to the family and friends of Corey Comperatore, who lost his life during the incident. The site also clarified that their role was limited to providing the venue for the Trump rally, with no further involvement in the event.

Despite the recent tragedy, preparations for the 2024 Butler Farm Show are well underway. The event, which has been a part of the community for 76 years, is expected to draw between 40,000 to 60,000 visitors. The show will feature livestock displays, rides, attractions, and more, with a single $10 entry fee covering all activities.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Democratic and Republican parties will have booths at the event, but they will politics politics-neutral. There are no plans for a formal exhibit about the assassination attempt, though it was mentioned during Sunday’s (August 4) non-denominational religious service.

The Butler Farm Show will run from Monday to Saturday, offering the community a chance to come together and celebrate their shared love for agriculture and farming.
