Pacific Airshow Continues Without U.S. Military Planes

The Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach will proceed as planned this weekend, despite the absence of U.S. military planes due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. The shutdown has halted non-essential federal operations, including military demonstrations, which means that U.S. military aircraft like the F-35 Lightning II, F-22 Raptor, and A-10 Thunderbolt will not participate this year.

Kevin Elliott, the airshow’s chief executive officer, expressed disappointment but reassured fans that the event will still feature an impressive lineup. “While this is certainly disappointing news, we are excited to share that Pacific Airshow Huntington Beach will continue as scheduled this Friday through Sunday with an outstanding lineup of world-class domestic and international performances,” Elliott stated.

This year’s show will include performances by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the Royal Air Force Falcons from the United Kingdom, and other international planes. Attendees can expect full days of thrilling performances, exciting activations, and the unique camaraderie and beach party atmosphere that the Pacific Airshow is known for. The event is billed as the largest airshow in the country by attendance.

The Pacific Airshow has faced challenges in recent years, including last year’s event, which was hampered by poor visibility due to a persistent marine layer. Despite these challenges, the airshow remains a popular attraction, drawing large crowds to Huntington Beach.
