Multiple officers were injured during a shooting in central Pennsylvania and at least two were transported to the hospital, a source familiar with the situation told CNN. The shooting suspect is dead from an apparant self-inflicted gunshot wound, the source said.
“WellSpan York Hospital is currently treating two individuals related to the police incident in North Codorus Township,” a hospital spokesperson said in a statement. “Both are in serious condition. Enhanced security protocols are in place at the hospital.”
The incident appears to have occurred while officers were serving a court order, the source said.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said that he is on his way to the scene of the shooting and has been briefed on the situation. The Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it is dispatching agents from the Harrisburg field office to assist the police in the investigation.
